What is Oshaberi Bar?

“Oshaberi” means chatting. Our bar is a place to enjoy conversation, whether you live in Nagoya or are visiting. Guests come on their own or with friends, after work or while travelling. Staff help create openings for conversation and introduce guests to one another.

You do not need a special interest or an event ticket to visit during normal opening hours. Who you meet and the atmosphere change from evening to evening.

Visiting alone? Start with a hello.

Yes, you can come by yourself. When you arrive, tell a member of staff that it is your first visit. You can say—or show on your phone:

“It’s my first time here.”

初めて来ました。

“I’m visiting on my own.”

一人で来ました。

Staff can help you find a conversation to join. There is no need to arrive with a group. If you would like an introduction, let staff know; introductions should feel comfortable for everyone involved.

Prices and how to order

¥3,300 = 8 coins

Tax included · Store coins are tokens used to pay for the cover charge, drinks and other menu items at this bar.

2 coins cover charge
+ 3 regular drinks × 2 coins
= 8 coins

  1. Buy store coins from staff. The basic purchase shown above is ¥3,300 for 8 coins.
  2. The cover charge uses 2 coins. Regular drinks, including regular soft drinks, use 2 coins per glass.
  3. Choose a drink and order with staff. Point to the English/Japanese menu below if that helps. Ask how many coins an item costs before ordering.
  4. Keep any unused coins. They have no expiry date and can be used on a later visit.

Coins are used for each order. This is not unlimited drinking, and not every item costs 2 coins. Food, special drinks and other items can have different coin prices. Food availability varies; a dish from a past food event is not a daily menu promise.

If you would like more coins, ask staff. The published purchase options are 8 coins for ¥3,300, 17 for ¥6,600, and 28 for ¥11,000.

How can I pay?

Cash, credit cards, PayPay, au PAY, Merpay and d払い are accepted. Acceptance of a particular card brand or an overseas-issued card has not been confirmed; contact us in advance if you need to rely on one card.

What if I don’t speak Japanese?

You are welcome to ask about visiting even if your Japanese is limited. Fluent English-speaking staff are not guaranteed on every shift. Short phrases, pointing to the menu, and a translation app can make communication easier.

Try typing a short message, showing the translation, and using the app’s read-aloud function if needed. Staff support depends on who is present. A short introduction is a good place to start.

If language support is essential for your visit, contact us beforehand. Replies in English or immediate replies are not guaranteed.

Events and atmosphere

Past gatherings have included guest-hosted food evenings, board games and conversations around shared interests. They show different sides of the bar; they are not a promise that a particular dish, game or host will be available every night.

You do not need to wait for an event to make your first visit. Check event announcements (Japanese) for dated plans and any event-specific information. Please check the date before making travel plans.

For the 19 September–4 October 2026 tournament, the separate Asian Games visitor guide (English) keeps the event-specific information together.
